Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited in Birmingham seeks an experienced Contract Manager to manage the full lifecycle of contracts across our energy sector operations. You will work with project management, legal, sales, procurement, and operations to ensure compliant, timely contract execution and favorable commercial outcomes.

The role requires at least 5 years in contract management, a strong grasp of contract law, and excellent negotiation and stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Quantity Survey, Law, Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree and/or professional legal qualification (LPC, LLM) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in contract management, preferably in energy/infra sectors.
• Strong understanding of contract law and commercial terms.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a variety of contracts with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure contracts comply with policies, legal requirements, and standards.
• Serve as primary contact for contractual matters and resolve issues.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks.
• Support successful contract execution and project delivery with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor milestones, deliverables, and payment terms; manage amendments and renewals.
• Maintain contract records and provide guidance on obligations and risk management.
