Job description

This role is in support of Cencora's third-party logistics service in the UK through our Alloga business., We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract Manager to oversee the management of contracts, ensuring work is completed in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the service levels of Alloga UK, its clients, and governing bodies. The successful candidate will be responsible for operational excellence, client relations, and driving continuous improvement across all areas of the contract.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to Company Health & Safety policies and standards at all times.
  • Develop a deep understanding of all warehouse functions, providing support and problem-solving expertise.
  • Maximise profit and minimise costs, with particular focus on ad hoc activities.
  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy of weekly charging reports.
  • Respond promptly to client/customer queries and provide professional communication to all stakeholders.
  • Present monthly KPI data and ensure agreed targets are met or improvement plans are in place.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contract operations and identify problem areas with actionable solutions.
  • Manage changes in inbound and outbound volumes, sharing information with internal and external contacts to meet client expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
  • Understand and adhere to GDP (Good Distribution Practice) and ISO quality standards.
  • Investigate and resolve escalated queries or complaints.
  • Act as a Project Manager for new client implementations as required.
  • Work with the commercial team to manage contractual RPI increases and produce cost models for clients.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Educated to O/GCGS Level Standard or above.
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in client-facing roles.
  • Excellent knowledge of warehouse activities and systems.
  • Sound knowledge of GDP (Good Distribution Practice).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial aspects of client contracts.
  • Trained in all relevant SOPs within 3 months of onboarding.
  • Excellent man-management skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to plan both short and long term.
  • Confident decision-maker who uses initiative and judgment effectively.
  • Results-driven, highly focused, and committed to performance improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate effectively.
  • Ability to influence and motivate staff through tact, politeness, and assertiveness.
  • Flexible approach to work, including the ability to work shifts.
