We're hiring a proven Contract Manager to provide strategic leadership across a high-profile client contract, ensuring excellence in delivery and commercial growth.

Main duties of the role
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the contract, supporting and holding the Service Delivery Manager and management team accountable.
  • Set the contract\'s strategic direction, aligning with client objectives and organisational goals to position us as the strategic partner of choice.
  • Lead regular meetings on performance, risk, finance, and priorities, implementing improvement strategies and proactively identifying opportunities for innovation and added value.
  • Promote collaboration across operational, commercial, and support teams to ensure consistent, excellent service delivery and compliance with contractual, statutory, and company policies.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the client\'s structure, strategy, and priorities to align services effectively.
  • Act as senior client contact, leading strategic meetings, reviews, audits, and performance discussions while maintaining a trusted and transparent relationship.
  • Manage client escalations and sensitive issues diplomatically, ensuring swift resolution and clear communication.
  • Takes full responsibility for the contract\'s commercial performance, achieving financial targets, revenue, and margin objectives.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts, and cost control processes, collaborating to monitor and report on performance.
  • Review commercial variations, proposals, and contract amendments with the Commercial team to manage change.
  • Identify and manage contractual risks and opportunities, implementing agreed improvements to enhance efficiency, profitability, and service standards.
  • Lead and support the management team, promoting accountability, teamwork, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify talent and succession needs, supporting development of key roles and collaborating with HR and leadership to ensure the team meets future requirements.
  • Represent the business at client/stakeholder meetings, industry events, and partner forums.
  • Promote the organisation\'s values, standards, and reputation at all times.
Required Skills and Abilities

Essential:

  • Proven experience in contract management within FM, estates, or a related sector.
  • Strong commercial and fiscal management skills with a record of delivering successful contract outcomes.
  • Experience managing senior managers or large multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent client-facing skills, with a track record of building and sustaining long-term partnerships.
  • Knowledge of compliance, governance, and risk management in a contract environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, able to influence and build trust.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Analytical thinker, able to interpret complex information and make informed decisions.

Desirable:

  • Recognised level 5 qualification or above in Facilities Management, Procurement or Contract Management (CIPS, CMI, ILM, IWFM).
  • NEC3 or NEC4 Contract Management certification.
