Qualifications

Electrical Contracts Manager

Location: Birmingham / West Midlands (with regional travel)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Package + company benefits

Company Overview

We are a well-established and growing electrical subcontractor operating across the Birmingham and wider West Midlands region. We deliver high-quality electrical installations across commercial, industrial, residential, and public sector projects. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects and ensure successful delivery from pre-start through to completion.

Role Overview

The Electrical Contracts Manager will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and financial control of multiple electrical contracts. This role requires strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, leadership skills, and the ability to manage clients, subcontractors, and site teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Contract & Project Management
  • Manage multiple electrical projects simultaneously from award through to final account
  • Ensure contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
  • Attend pre-start meetings, progress meetings, and client reviews
  • Prepare and manage project programmes in conjunction with site teams
Commercial & Financial Control
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow
  • Oversee valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Work closely with commercial teams to maximise profitability
  • Monitor labour, plant, and material costs
Team & Resource Management
  • Manage site managers, supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Plan labour and resources effectively across projects
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to site teams
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with main contractors, clients, and consultants
  • Act as the main point of contact for contract-related issues
  • Handle any contractual or technical issues professionally and efficiently
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager
  • Strong background working for an electrical subcontractor
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical installations and regulations
  • Strong commercial and contractual understanding
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Valid ECS / CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, or residential projects
  • NICEIC Qualified Supervisor or equivalent
  • SMSTS or equivalent health & safety qualification
  • Experience working within the West Midlands region
