Standard Life plc is seeking a Legal Counsel on a 12-month fixed term contract to provide corporate and strategic legal advice within the Corporate and Investments Legal team. The role involves handling transactions from structuring to completion and advising across corporate matters.

The position is based in London with options across Birmingham or Edinburgh, offering hybrid work and flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practise in Scotland or England.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Experience advising on and negotiating corporate transactions, including M&A.

Responsibilities

• Support transactions from initial structuring and due diligence through to negotiation, execution and completion.
• Advise on related corporate matters as part of the Corporate and Investments Legal team.
• Manage a varied caseload and collaborate with senior lawyers on complex or strategic work.
