Contract Data Engineer – Government Department - Outside IR35 - Remote - £500 per day An exciting opportunity is coming soon for a ContractData Engineer to join a forward-thinking government department driving digital transformation and data-driven decision making.

You’ll play a key role in building and optimising data pipelines, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable data infrastructure, and enabling better public services through clean, accessible data.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build and maintain robust ETL pipelines.

Optimise data workflows and storage across cloud/on-prem environments.

Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and policy teams.

Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with government standards.

About You:

Strong experience with Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Familiar with data modelling, warehousing, and pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt).

Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-impact environments.

Public sector experience is a plus, but not essential.
