Job summary

A prominent cybersecurity firm is seeking a Cyber SOC Engineer to act as an escalation point for SOC engineering activities. This role requires DV Security Clearance and involves mentoring the SOC engineering team. You will be responsible for transitioning projects into SOC operations while ensuring operational tasks are timely. Candidates should have strong knowledge of security concepts, best practices, and various SOC toolsets, including Firewalls and SIEM solutions, to be successful in this challenging environment.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of multiple SOC tooling including IDPS, Firewalls, SIEM.
• Experience of implementing and fault finding Firewall technologies.
• Excellent understanding of network security concepts.

Cyber SOC Engineer (DV Cleared)

Newport, Wales

6 months initially

£70 to £90 per hour inside IR35

Due to the nature of the role candidates must have current DV Security Clearance.

Role Overview

This role requires a strong cyber security professional to stand as an escalation point for all SOC operational engineering activity. You will be responsible for the transition of projects from the System Design team into the SOC operations ensuring impact analysis, capacity and availability management are considered prior to accepting new projects. You will also mentor / oversee members of the SOC Engineering team, ensuring all operational tasks are completed and work tickets updated / closed on time.
