Job summary

People Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading global consultancy on a major government redevelopment programme in the London/Surrey area. You will provide commercial and contractual expertise across multiple work packages from post-contract award through final account.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Commercial Management or Cost Management role within construction.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 ECC contracts.
• Experience delivering large public sector schemes and multi-work package oversight.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills with director-level engagement.
• Strong financial management, cost reporting and forecasting.
• Degree in construction-related discipline and professional qualification, or working towards one.

An opportunity to make a real impact on a nationally significant project.

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading global consultancy on a major, multi-million-pound programme transforming a Central Government campus in the London/Surrey area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a diverse, redevelopment programme at a site of international scientific importance, delivering enabling works, infrastructure and building projects within a complex, live operational environment.

Working as part of the Project Management Delivery Partner team, you’ll play a key role in commercial management, procurement and project delivery, collaborating with a wide range of technical, construction and client-side stakeholders.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the wider programme delivery team, providing commercial and contractual expertise across multiple work packages, from post-contract award through to final account.

About You:

We’re keen to speak with commercially astute construction professionals who enjoy working collaboratively on complex, high-profile programmes.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience in a Commercial Management or Cost Management role within the construction sector.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 ECC contracts — essential for this position.
• Experience delivering large-scale public sector schemes and managing multiple work packages from design through to completion.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the confidence to engage at director level.
• Strong financial management, cost reporting and forecasting capabilities.
• A degree in a relevant construction-related discipline and a relevant professional qualification, or be working towards one.

Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare or life sciences environments would be advantageous, but is not essential.
