This permanent role has a starting salary of £33,552 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

We have a great opportunity to join our Adults Wellbeing and Health Partnerships (AWHP) Contracts Team as a Contract Administration Officer. We support hybrid working with the right balance, coming come together in person for 2 days per week on average (40% of the working week) and support working from home the rest of the time.

About The Role

As a Contract Administration Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the effective administration of care service contracts. Your work will help ensure that commissioned packages of care and placements are underpinned by robust contract documentation aligned with Surrey County Council's Terms and Conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contracts: Maintain accurate records, resolve contract-related issues, and support the ongoing maintenance of the AWHP contract register. You will assist in reconciling spot and Individual Placement Agreements (IPA).
  • Contract Advice and Support: Provide advice to frontline staff and commissioners, and support learning sessions to ensure practitioners remain informed about essential contract processes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with practitioners and commissioners to develop contracts, liaise directly with providers to request and provide detailed information, and manage disputes or clarify contractual terms. You will work in partnership with teams such as Brokerage, Cost Management, Legal, Procurement and Finance.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with Surrey County Council's contractual standards and policy requirements. You will support the consistent application of contract terms and conditions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with other teams to improve business administration processes and assist with Local Government Reorganisation readiness and legal contract structures for the new unitary framework. You will help embed best practice and support organisational change.

This role does not have direct line management responsibilities, but you will be expected to and train team members and new staff.>

Key projects and goals for the next 12–18 months include: supporting the transition to new unitary councils as part of Local Government Reorganisation, issuing contracts for placements and packages of care. You will play an active role in ensuring readiness for organisational change and in embedding best practice across the team.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to advise and support staff and deliver information clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple building strong relationships and ensuring effective teamwork.
  • Commitment to compliance with Surrey County Council's contractual standards and policy requirements.
  • Experience in business and finance environment.
