Job summary

Nexus Jobs Limited is hiring a CI Engineer with Java experience to join a DevOps team near Manchester. The role focuses on building and maintaining automated pipelines, tooling, and deployment processes for large-scale applications.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in engineering, expert Java development, strong scripting skills, and experience with CI tools (Jenkins/Hudson) and build systems (Maven, Nexus). The contract is 3 months, starting immediately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or related field.
• 4+ years of engineering experience with large-scale applications.
• Proficient in Git and other source control systems.
• Experience configuring CI tools such as Hudson/Jenkins.
• Expert Java development experience and build tooling (Maven, Nexus).
• Strong scripting skills: Python, Perl, Groovy, etc.
• Strong drive to automate build, test, deploy processes.
• Willing to participate in on-call rotation.
• Able to collaborate across multiple teams.

About the Job

CI Engineer with Java- DevOps Team

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training and experience.

4+ years engineering experience with large-scale applications.

Ability to apply complex principles, theories and concepts of the technical discipline and provide solutions to a wide range of complex tasks, - projects and problems

Advanced knowledge and proficiency with source control systems, preferably git

Experience using and configuring continuous integration tools (Hudson, Jenkins, etc.)

Proficient with Java based build systems and related tools (Maven, Nexus, etc.)

Expertise developing in Java language

Expert with scripting languages (python, perl, groovy etc.)

Strong desire to automate build, test, deployment, and related activities

Ability to participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 service requirement.

Able to collaborate and work effectively across multiple teams with varying skillsets.

The position will be based near Manchester.

This is a 3 month contract to start immediately.
