Job summary

Kinect Services Limited is recruiting contingency drivers to provide essential cover across our passenger transport network in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. You may be deployed on different routes or available for immediate deployment on short notice.

The role requires flexibility, calmness under pressure, and the ability to communicate professionally with families, schools and local authorities. A full UK licence and DBS clearance are essential, with term-time only working and a joining

Qualifications

• A full UK driving licence.
• An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to complete the required checks.
• Availability to start from 6.30 am during term time.
• Willingness to travel within the allocated operational area.
• Understanding that frequent last‑minute changes are part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transport for children and vulnerable adults.
• Cover planned and unplanned driver absences.
• Drive different routes across your allocated operational area.
• Respond to frequent and short-notice changes.
• Work closely with the Operations Team and follow updated instructions.
• Provide excellent service to passengers, families, schools and local authorities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to concerns or challenging conversations.
• Complete vehicle checks and meet company compliance requirements.
• Use company systems to receive route information and updates.
• Maintain safeguarding, professionalism and punctuality to a high standard.
• Complete operational visits or audit reviews when required.
