Job summary

Oxford Health is seeking a Continence Specialist Nurse within District Nursing to provide expert assessment, information, and interventions for patients with bladder and bowel conditions in community settings. You will work independently and with multidisciplinary teams, promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing in patients’ homes or care settings.

This 12-month secondment role requires a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered nurse required.
• IT skills with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, training and support to promote effective patient care and discharge from community nursing services.
• Perform expert assessment of patients in community settings, including specialist continence assessment.
• Act as an information and educational resource for the District Nursing service.
• Lead or deputise a service improvement project.
• Influence development and implementation of policies, protocols and guidelines for community nursing.
• Audit the quality of continence care against national guidelines.
