Job summary

Harrison Drury Solicitors is recruiting a Contentious Probate Solicitor to join a respected Private Client team across Preston and Clitheroe. You will handle disputes involving wills, trusts and estates, working with seasoned specialists to deliver high-quality client service.

The role requires 2+ years' PQE in contentious probate, excellent client-facing abilities, and a commercial approach balanced with empathy for clients in sensitive situations.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with at least 2 years' PQE in contentious probate.
• Experience handling contentious probate and inheritance disputes.
• Familiarity with Inheritance Act 1975 claims is advantageous.
• Excellent client-facing and relationship-building abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commercial awareness and proactivity in client service.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and collaboratively.
• Empathy and professionalism in sensitive cases.
• Strong IT and case management skills.
• Willingness to develop within a growing team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of contentious probate matters.
• Advise clients on disputes relating to wills, trusts, and estates.
• Handle claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, referrers and professional contacts.
• Deliver an exceptional level of client service.
• Ensure clients are regularly updated on progress and costs.
• Participate in networking, marketing and business development initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Private Client team.
• Contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the department.
