Job description

Contentious Probate Solicitor, 5-8 Years PQE, Berkshire, £60,000+ (DOE) – This highly reputable regional firm has an exciting new permanent role for an ambitious solicitor to join the Contested Probate Team within the Litigation Department JOB REF: 0162.

THE ROLE:
• You will manage a varied case load of contested probate matters, including will challenges, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, and disputes over estate administration.
• You will provide clear, strategic advice to clients with sensitivity and confidence and run matters from start to finish, including issuing proceedings, mediation, and trial preparation where necessary.
• You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Private Client and Dispute Resolution teams and contribute to the growth of the contested probate law practice through business development and networking.
• You will build and maintain strong client relationships by offering personalised legal services.
• You will support the development and supervision of junior members of the team

SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 5-8 years’ PQE in contested probate
• Strong technical knowledge of contested probate and trust disputes
• ACTAPS or STEP membership (or working towards it)
• Proven business development skills and be able to generate your own work
• Supervision experience is advantageous
• A pro-active approach to case management with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities
• The ability to work as part of a team and build effective and trusting relationships with clients and colleagues
