Job summary

QED Legal LLP in Hull seeks a Contentious Probate Paralegal to join its growing team. The role focuses on inheritance disputes and litigation support, involving wills challenges, executor and trustee issues, and estate administration disputes.

You will assist with court filings, disclosure, and trial preparation while developing specialist knowledge in private client litigation. Ideal for individuals with 12+ months in a law firm and a desire to progress.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months' experience working within a law firm.
• Previous experience as a Litigation Paralegal, Private Client Paralegal or Contentious Probate Paralegal is advantageous.
• Exposure to civil litigation, inheritance disputes or estate administration would be beneficial.
• Excellent written communication and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise deadlines.
• A professional, empathetic approach when dealing with clients.
• A genuine interest in building a long-term career within Contentious Probate and Inheritance Litigation.

Responsibilities

• Drafting correspondence, Letters of Claim and Letters of Response.
• Preparing court documents, Caveats, Warnings and Larke v Nugus requests.
• Reviewing disclosure, medical records, financial documentation and Will files.
• Preparing hearing bundles and trial documentation.
• Undertaking legal research and preparing reports for fee earners.
• Liaising with clients, Counsel, the Courts and third parties.
• Assisting with new enquiries and supporting clients through sensitive disputes.
• Progressing matters efficiently with excellent attention to detail.
