We are a team helping the BBC reach younger audiences through YouTube and other digital platforms. We commission content, work with creators and production companies, and develop new ways to connect with audiences where they spend their time. As a Content Creator apprentice, you'll be deeply involved in our YouTube activity, helping to develop ideas, create and publish content, analyse performance and learn what makes digital content succeed. You'll gain hands‑on experience on real projects, build valuable editorial and platform skills, and play a part in shaping the future of BBC content for younger audiences.
You’ll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means that as well as learning on your placement at the BBC, you’ll also attend learning blocks (up to a week at a time) with our learning provider, working towards an industry recognised apprenticeship qualification - Level 3 Content Creator.
Learning blocks will be a mixture of in‑person and virtual delivery, including attending instructor‑led workshops, tutorial sessions, presentations and group work.
For more information on what you will study during the scheme, please see the Content Creator apprenticeship standard.
As part of the programme, you will be required to travel to attend in‑person learning blocks and other apprenticeship‑related activities where necessary.
We’re interested in your passion for working at the BBC and your enthusiasm for delivering world‑class content and operational excellence to our audiences. We’re not focused on your qualifications; instead, we look for potential and offer you the opportunity to apply your transferable strengths and experience to work in different ways.
This scheme is aimed at non‑graduates. If you have a degree and you’re interested in similar roles at the BBC, we recommend applying for jobs at the BBC careers site or having a look at our other apprenticeship schemes.
For candidates under the age of 19 years at 8th September 2027: To complete the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications by the start of your apprenticeship, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end‑point assessment.
This is a fixed‑term apprenticeship – your contract lasts for the duration of the scheme. Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for any suitable open vacancies at the BBC or outside in the wider creative industry. You’ll be supported with career development, employability training, and networking opportunities to help you take your next step.
