Job summary

BBC Group and Public Services in Derby is offering a Fixed-Term Content Creator Apprenticeship - Level 3 with BBC Radio Derby. This 15-month, full-time apprenticeship provides on-the-job training and study toward an industry-recognised qualification.

You will learn to create engaging content, produce and edit audio/video, and develop digital storytelling skills while rotating through BBC Radio Derby’s teams and learning providers.

Qualifications

• This scheme is aimed at non‑graduates.
• Be 18 years old or over by September 2027.
• Have lived in the UK continuously for the last three years.
• Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration.
• Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation.
• No prior learning is required to apply.
• If you already have relevant experience or qualifications, your individual learning plan may be adjusted to reflect this – meaning you could complete your apprenticeship in less time.
• Relocation financial support is available for this role, subject to eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Play a part in creating trusted, high-quality content for BBC audiences.
• Grow your storytelling skills through hands‑on experience researching, writing, producing and editing content on a range of subjects.
• Develop your digital content skills by monitoring audience trends and creating content for social media platforms, including selecting and editing clips from programmes for use on social media platforms.
• Spot opportunities for digital content, including short clips, behind‑the‑scenes moments, interviews and talent‑led extras.
• Learn from experienced professionals, collaborate with expert teams and develop your career at the world’s largest public service broadcaster.
