We're looking for a talented writer to join our creative team! Working across the marketing and communications team, you’ll champion the work of Shaw Trust, writing, editing, co‑ordinating compelling copy that engages, informs and inspires action. You’re a creative professional with excellent writing and research skills underpinned by a deep understanding of what different audiences want and need.

A generalist with a broad range of writing skills, you can flex your style to the job at hand, whether it’s drafting a powerful call to action, punchy strapline, or thought‑provoking op‑ed. And your appreciation of SEO means you can write impactful content for a wide range of marketing and communications products, helping drive our commercial success as well as increasing our profile to ensure even more people benefit from our support. What you'll be doing:
  • Writing: spanning Shaw Trust’s written output, whether web, social, campaign and marketing, internal, public relations, news, video, (or anything else as needed)
  • Research: informing written work with relevant, up-to-date research, and market and audience insight
  • Proofreading and editing: overseeing the quality and consistency of our written work
  • Creative: generating original concepts and content work across digital, film and print platforms
  • Tone of voice: ensuring that content meets our high standards for quality and accessibility, in line with our values, brand guidelines, and security requirements
  • Monitoring: maintaining consistency across communications platforms
  • Training and development: Helping colleagues develop their writing skills, upskilling the wider marcomms team
  • Project management: working with operational teams and internal to deliver high quality written content according to deadlines
  • SEO/UX copywriting: working alongside the digital team undertake keyword research to ensure audiences can easily find the information they need online
