Job Advert: Contact Supervision Worker (Grade 2)

Location: Birmingham Children’s Trust – One Avenue

Hours: 16 per week (flexible between 08:45–21:00)

Pay Rate: £13.70 PAYE / £17.65 Umbrella

The Role

We are seeking a Contact Supervision Worker to support children and young people in care during family contact sessions. This short-term project role is vital in ensuring safe, positive experiences for children when meeting parents, carers, or other family members.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Safely transporting children to and from contact venues.
  • Supervising contact sessions to ensure they run smoothly and in line with care plans.
  • Writing clear, accurate reports on each contact session.
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns promptly to the Contact Manager and allocated social worker.
  • Supporting duty arrangements and maintaining tidy, safe contact rooms.
About You
  • Experienced in working with children, young people, or families in a care/community setting.
  • Reliable, empathetic, and able to build trust with children and families.
  • Confident in managing safeguarding concerns and following procedures.
  • Organised, with strong written communication skills for reporting.
  • Flexible to work across varied hours (including evenings).
