Do you have a strong background in consumer PR and are looking for an exciting opportunity to join the PR team for one of Britain’s biggest supermarkets?

This role focuses on the development and execution of brand campaigns, stories and events which effectively communicate Asda’s unmatchable mix. This will be achieved through exciting, integrated PR campaigns that showcase Asda’s commitment to supporting hardworking families across the UK.

This is fixed term contract until December 2026.

Key responsibilities
  • Support the Senior PR Manager in developing and implementing a calendar of PR campaigns that successfully communicate key messages around Asda’s campaigns, products and services in earned media, and in line with Asda’s overall reputation and values.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of our retained consumer PR agency to ensure campaigns are clearly briefed, developed and executed.
  • Responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure awareness of new products, services or campaign opportunities.
  • Work closely with the broader customer function, ensuring integration with other channels where relevant, to further amplify PR activity.
  • Play a key role in managing and producing events which showcase key product launches – being the key contact for our event production company and in-house teams, including Christmas in September.
  • Manage seasonal photo shoots for key product launches, predominantly our annual PR Christmas look book.
  • From time to time, provide out-of-hours on call services for the PR team and wider business.
  • Identify new and innovative ways of landing or measuring PR campaigns – taking the opportunity to push boundaries and challenge thinking.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years PR experience in consumer PR – ideally with experience in retail/food and drink.
  • Enviable journalist contacts and knowledge of the media landscape.
  • Confident in identifying, developing and implementing creative PR stories and campaigns that deliver impactful results, both proactive and reactive (newsjacking).
  • Experience managing/overseeing events is desirable.
  • Experience managing product photo shoots is desirable.
