Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, forward‑thinking consultant with expertise in the comprehensive management of prostate cancer, from diagnosis to robotic prostatectomy.

Responsibilities

• Provide minimally invasive robotic surgery, working with colleagues to develop expertise in robotic prostatectomy.
• Develop and deliver the pathway for prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment, in partnership with prostate cancer specialist nurses and nurse consultants.
• Communicate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to increasing the department's national profile through publications and presentations at international meetings.
• Participate in a Consultant of the Week rota on a 1:9 basis, supported by a 24‑hour middle grade tier and a Hospital at Night Team.
