Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a substantive Consultant Urological Surgeon with expertise in robotic upper urinary tract oncology and reconstructive surgery to join MFT Urology. This is a strategic appointment within One MFT Urology to create a modern, patient-centred service across Manchester.

Qualifications

• Advanced training in robotic renal and upper tract surgery.
• Experience with robotic partial and radical nephrectomy.
• Experience in upper urinary tract reconstruction a plus.

Responsibilities

• Robotic partial and radical nephrectomy and other renal cancer surgeries as appropriate.
• Upper urinary tract oncology and case selection.
• Robotic reconstructive upper tract surgery such as pyeloplasty/ureteric reimplantation where trained.
• Develop and standardise enhanced recovery and peri-operative pathways.
• Prospective review of surgical outcomes, complications and patient experience.
• Training and mentorship in robotic surgery for trainees and colleagues.
• Service development to improve access, capacity and resilience across MFT.

We are inviting applications for a substantive Consultant Urological Surgeon with expertise in robotic upper urinary tract oncology and reconstructive surgery to join MFT Urology, one of the largest urology services in the UK.

This is a strategic appointment within One MFT Urology and an opportunity to join the service at an important point in its development. We are bringing together our teams, expertise and clinical pathways across Manchester to create a modern, high-quality urology service centred around patients rather than individual hospital sites.

The post is full-time (10 PAs). The successful candidate will join an established upper tract and robotic surgical team and will contribute to the delivery and further development of renal and upper urinary tract cancer surgery across MFT.

Applicants should have advanced training and demonstrable experience in robotic renal and upper tract surgery. The post is intended for a surgeon able to contribute to complex renal cancer surgery, including robotic partial and radical nephrectomy. Experience or a developed interest in robotic upper urinary tract reconstruction is particularly welcomed.
