Capgemini Invent is growing its Defence team in the UK, delivering transformation for MOD and Defence clients. You will work closely with the Capgemini group, combining strategy, technology and analytics to drive tangible improvements.

Your role:

We are growing our Defence team, and the opportunities are huge. We work hand in hand with our clients to realise their goals and overcome their most complex challenges. We do this by working very closely with the broader Capgemini group to support our clients as holistically as possible, leveraging a wealth of technical expertise. We need people with strong consulting skills as well as skills in areas such as: Strategy & Innovation, P3M, Agile & Hybrid ways of working, Business Technology, Analytics, and Workforce & Organisational transformation.

As a Consultant within the Defence team you will primarily be Delivery focused, spending time with our clients – building relationships, growing trust and delivering tangible improvements and benefit.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Delivering project work and leading workstreams across Defence and MOD clients.
• Be at the forefront of understanding of the latest innovation, technology development and transformation across Defence.
• Deliver excellent work for our clients to high standard as part of a Capgemini engagement.
• We are looking for candidates at either Consultant or Senior Consultant level dependent on experience.

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

• Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
• Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
• Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

Your profile:

This role would suit candidates at the start of their career, perhaps having been through the MOD Graduate or Apprentice scheme or similar Graduate scheme in another Defence Consultancy. At the Senior Consultant level, to have experience managing small projects or leading workstreams within Defence engagements and also have an understanding of MOD commercial processes and exposure of ‘Selling into Defence’.

• MOD Delivery Management – Senior Consultant, 3+ years, leading key workstreams in MOD engagements, Consultant – 1+ year supporting engagements across MOD.
• Experience delivering/supporting Major Defence Programmes, across the CADMID cycle.
• Military Domain Experience - Understanding of the Defence Operating model and experience working in either Front Line Commands (FLCs) or Enabling organisations across the National Armaments Director Group.
• Domain/process knowledge of Air/RAF, National Armaments Director Group (NAD – G), including NAD-M, Digital & Data and Dstl.
• Knowledge & Understanding of Defence approach to Change & Benefits Management.
• Project, Programme, Portfolio Management (P3M) experience, including holding APM and MSP qualifications.
• Experience working within Technology/IT programmes, inc. Secure Cloud, Data Fabrics, Software Delivery Lifecycle.
• HMT Business Case development, including operational analysis and options appraisal
• Requirements Management.
• User research, Business Analysis and Defence Business Change Management.
• Defence approach to Training Development (incl. DSAT).
