Our team consists of 21 general radiologists with subspecialties including breast, upper/lower GI, musculoskeletal, urology, paediatrics and more.

We refurbished Central Radiology in early 2021, with a cutting-edge diagnostic department including 2 nuclear medicine cameras, a future-proofed capital replacement programme, and an upgraded PACS (Agfa Enterprise Imaging) across the estate in December 2024. We are also investing in artificial intelligence solutions within the department.

Responsibilities
  • Join a multi-professional team based in the Radiology Department at the Victoria Hospital site and provide clinical opinions for our community hospitals and primary care services.
  • Provide all aspects of a Diagnostic Radiology Service at Blackpool Teaching Hospital (CT, MR, Plain films, Ultrasound) as well as Nuclear Medicine.
  • Occasionally provide diagnostic reports on patients at community hospitals. The department operates a “Radiologist of the Day” system, under review as more consultants join the team, with a goal to become more efficient and minimise interruptions to individual consultants.
