A leading healthcare facility in Northampton is seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a focus on Paediatrics, Interventional Radiology, and Gynaecological imaging. The position supports an expanding Radiology Department and allows for development in sub-specialties. Candidates must hold an FRCR or equivalent and be on the GMC Specialist Register or nearing CCT. Job summary
Join us as a Consultant Radiologist at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust, with welcomed interests in Paediatrics, Interventional Radiology, and Gynaecological imaging (including Endometriosis). This fully funded substantive post supports our expanding Radiology Department and offers the chance to shape the future of specialist services.

You will work within a dynamic, supportive team of consultant radiologists, delivering high-quality imaging to the Trust and county-wide primary care. We encourage sub-specialty development, and additional training can be provided on-site or through partner centres. There is also significant scope to develop and lead new interventional or specialist services aligned to your expertise.

Applicants must hold FRCR (or equivalent) and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of CCT at the time of interview.

Qualifications & Experience
  • FRCR
  • MRCP, MRCS or other professional or higher qualification
  • Full registration with General Medical Council. On the GMC Specialist register for Clinical Radiology or eligible to be included on the Specialist Register within 6 months by achieving CCT / CESR.
Clinical Skills
  • Evidence of extensive training in Cross Sectional Radiology
Desirable Skills
  • Evidence of sub-specialty training
  • Post graduate experience and familiarity of UK NHS hospital system
  • Experience of CT/US guided biopsy, MSK injections and other interventions.
  • Experience of MDT
Management Skills
  • Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families and other health professionals.
  • Able to develop, present and implement coherent ideas for service development/delivery.
  • Able to delegate appropriately.
  • Able to work within a team.
Teaching, Audit and Research
  • Evidence of participation in clinical audit
  • Able to teach and support junior staff effectively
Interpersonal Skills
  • Good written and verbal skills in English.
  • Willingness to show flexibility in responding to the needs of the department.
