Exciting opportunities are now open at East Cheshire NHS Trust (ECT) for an innovative and forward-thinking clinician to join our well-established Radiology Department .

We welcome applications from all specialties, however, those with specific interest/experience in GU/GI are of particular interest.

Applicants must have full and specialist registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or eligible for registration within six months of interview)

Applicants are required to be on the Specialist Register or due to obtain their CCT within 6 months of interview. CESR candidates must have written GMC confirmation of successful application.

UK trained applicants are required to be a Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview.

The Trust is starting a CTCA service and candidates would be able to pursue this if interested

Additional private practice opportunities also exist at the neighbouring Spire Regency, located adjacent to Macclesfield District General Hospital, with which we boast excellent relationships.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be expected to work flexibly and provide high quality care with particular emphasis on:

  • Participation in the on-call rota and assisting in providing cover for colleagues on leave
  • Working flexibly and co-operatively across sites to ensure the smooth running of the department
  • Ensuring that MDGH remain the priority when undertaking external, or other non-clinical, appointments or duties
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure effective management of patients, internal referrals, and theatre sessions
  • Participation in the education and training of medical students, doctors and professionals allied to medicine
  • Demonstrating a firm commitment to the principles of clinical governance
  • Developing and maintaining robust systems to ensure effective clinical audit
  • Ensuring NHS Plan standards for inpatient/day case Waiting Times are achieved
  • Ensuring that optimal use is made of resources allocated to the department and the post

NHS Medical and Dental salaries are set at a national level. For new starters not already working to UK Medical and Dental terms and conditions of service will be appointed to the minimum paypoint. The starting salary paypoint can only be increased when there is evidence of relevant, completed year's experience in terms of nature, type and level of role.
