Job summary

Priory Hospital Cheadle is seeking a Consultant Psychologist to lead on our inpatient CAMHS and EDU ward. Working with the Head of Psychology, you will drive the service strategy, deliver high-quality psychological practice, and contribute to governance, audits, and training.

Essential: HCPC registration and a Masters degree; CBT expertise with other modalities; experience with complex clients and strategic leadership. Site-based role with Priory's development opportunities and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Additionally, the candidate should bring leadership and management experience, alongside proven skills in service planning and development.

You will be working on our inpatient CAMHS and EDU ward.

Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal, Stockport is an inpatient mental health service for young people and adults. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes along Wilmslow Road and Cheadle Hulme and East Didsbury railway stations approximately 1-2 miles from the service.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential:Relevant Masters degreeHCPC Registration required

The ideal candidate will have a confident grasp of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) along with proficiency in at least two other therapeutic modalities, one of which should include training in interventions suitable for working with location-specific or relevant clinical disorders.

They should demonstrate a solid understanding and application of therapeutic principles, with a willingness to undertake additional training if not already completed.

Experience in working with complex clients and delivering highly specialist interventions is essential, as is the ability to operate at a strategic level.

Training in clinical supervision, as well as experience in conducting assessments relevant to the specific environment and population, is required.

Additionally, the candidate should bring leadership and management experience, alongside proven skills in service planning and development.
