A leading mental health provider in Cardiff seeks a part-time Consultant Psychologist for 22.5 hours per week. Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychologist to join the Psychology Team at Priory Hospital Cardiff. The role is part of a modern mental health treatment unit that offers a range of facilities, including secure gardens, a gym, a hydrotherapy pool, patient practice kitchens, social areas, art rooms and dedicated support service areas.

Role Details

The position is part‑time, working 22.5 hours per week across three days. The pro‑rata salary for this role is £40,168.00. As a Registered Psychologist you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of psychiatry, nursing, occupational therapy and social work staff to deliver high‑quality care and support patient progress in a modern, homely environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessment and formulation to determine treatment needs of individual service users
  • Write risk assessments and provide individual and group interventions
  • Provide training to staff and run reflective practice sessions
  • Support the development and implementation of Positive Behaviour Support strategies (beneficial experience)
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to monitor and review patient progress
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered Psychologist
  • Experience in assessment and formulation
  • Background in Positive Behaviour Support preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
