A healthcare organization is seeking a part-time Consultant Psychiatrist for their Private Addictions Ward. Priory Hospital Bristol is looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist Private Addictions Ward/Medical Director to join the team. This is a part‑time role of 22.5 or 30 hours that can be over three or four days. Bristol is an ideal place for treating people with complex disorders, including people who may not have responded to previous treatment. As a Consultant Psychiatrist Private Addictions/Medical Director, you will be accountable for, but not exclusively limited to, the following areas of responsibility.
Priory Hospital Bristol is an elegant 18th‑century country residence set in beautiful parkland close to the centre of Bristol, less than 5 minutes away from the M32 leading directly onto the M4/M5 motorway. The 18‑bed hospital is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group, featuring multiple wards such as Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Adult Psychiatric Intensive Care, Acquired Brain Injury, Huntingdon and Dementia.

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist with MRCPsych (or equivalent), Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status, and CCT (or equivalent), who is listed on the GMC specialist register and recognised in their clinical specialty. The ideal candidate will bring at least three years experience working at Consultant level, with proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams across hospital or community settings. You will have a track record of contributing to service change and improvement at a senior level, supported by strong leadership and influencing skills with a focus on delivering high‑quality, innovative, patient‑centred care. A flexible and positive team‑orientated approach is essential, along with a commitment to values‑based and evidence‑based practice. Leadership and management training, or a willingness to undertake this, will be expected.
