Job summary

Skylight Psychiatry in the United Kingdom seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist for a 3‑month fixed term contract with hybrid/remote work in Basingstoke. The role reports to the Executive Director and pays £45,000 pro‑rata for the contract, with 37.5 hours per week.

The post leads ADHD services, provides prescribing oversight, conducts complex reviews, and supervises ADHD prescribers and clinicians while contributing to governance and MDT activities.

Qualifications

• GMC registered Consultant Psychiatrist
• CCT in Psychiatry or Learning Disability Psychiatry
• Section 12 approval (or eligibility)
• Experience in ADHD and/or Autism assessment and management
• Strong safeguarding, risk management and clinical governance understanding
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication skills and digital literacy

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Basingstoke - Hybrid/Remote (with occasional travel to office as required)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Consultant Psychiatrist is a senior clinical role responsible for delivering high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments and providing medical oversight within the service.

Person Specification

Essential

• GMC registered Consultant Psychiatrist
• CCT in Psychiatry or Learning Disability Psychiatry
• Section 12 approval (or eligibility)
• Demonstrable experience in ADHD and/or Autism assessment and management
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and clinical governance
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication skills and digital literacy

Desirable

• Experience working within neurodevelopmental assessment services
• Experience contributing to service development or pathway design
• Understanding of CQC regulatory frameworks
• Leadership, medical management or quality improvement training
