Responsibilities

• Taking clinical responsibility for patients including multidisciplinary ward rounds.
• Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act.
• Offering a psychiatric perspective in relation to patient assessment and treatment.
• Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings.
• Supervising other members of the multi-disciplinary team and junior medical staff.
• Maintaining CPD and re-validation requirements.

Skills

Innovation and imagination in decision making

Knowledge of change management and relevant legislation

Previous Consultant experience in a management role
