Role Overview

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Mental Health Service for West Wiltshire and Devizes (WWKD). This post is an existing position that has become vacant due to the post-holder moving to a new post.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct interventions to service users at a level of intensity according to need, including those who require an assertive approach and are difficult to engage.
• Provide medical input and leadership to the WWKD CMHT with particular responsibility for patients from surgeries in Melksham and Trowbridge.
• Provide advice to members of the Multi‑Disciplinary Team and attend regular MDT meetings.
• Assess and treat outpatients in clinics.
• Hold CPA meetings for outpatients.
• Visit patients in their own place of residence if clinically indicated.
• Liaise with other parts of the service, GPs, and non‑NHS organisations wherever applicable.
• Liaise with the Intensive and Inpatient services to facilitate the smooth handover of clients between services.
• Take responsibility as a Responsible Clinician for patients subject to Community Treatment Orders.
