A leading mental health organization in the UK is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for its Community Mental Health team in West Wiltshire. The ideal candidate will deliver direct interventions, provide leadership within the multidisciplinary team, and manage both psychiatric and physical health needs of patients. Essential qualifications include GMC registration and CCT in General Adult Psychiatry. The role offers a compelling opportunity for engagement in community mental health care.
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Mental Health for West Wiltshire and Devizes (WWKD). This post is an existing post, which has become vacant due to the post-holder moving into a new post.
As the post holder you will deliver direct interventions to service users at a level of intensity according to need including those service users who require an assertive approach who are difficult to engage. This will include on-going assessment, diagnoses (including review and clarification) and treatment of mental and physical health needs.
As the post holder you will provide Medical input and leadership to the WWKD CMHT with particular responsibility for patients from surgeries in Melksham and Trowbridge.
As the post holder you will also:
Provide advice to members of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams in the WWKD CMHT Team and attend regular Team MDT meetings.
Assessment and treatment of outpatients in clinics.
Hold CPA meetings for outpatients.
Visit patients in their own place of residence if clinically indicated
Liaise with other parts of the service and GPs and non-NHS organisations wherever applicable.
Liaise with the Intensive and Inpatient services as appropriate to facilitate the smooth handover of clients between services.
To fulfil the Responsible Clinician role with respect to patients subject to Community Treatment Orders.
