Job summary

Priory Hospital Roehampton is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Adolescent Inpatient Eating Disorder ward on a part-time basis (15 hours per week, 2 days).

The successful candidate will be fully GMC registered, hold the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team to assess and plan care, supervise junior staff, and contribute to service development.

Qualifications

• Must be a fully registered medical practitioner with the GMC.
• Hold a licence to practise.
• Be on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status).
• Experience managing complex inpatient adolescent eating disorder cases within a MDT.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans with the MDT.
• Lead ward rounds and oversee complex clinical cases including risk management.
• Support patients and families with treatment planning, relapse prevention and recovery.
• Provide supervision to junior staff and contribute to service quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with site leadership to enhance service delivery and patient experience.

Priory Hospital Roehampton

Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team in our Adolescent Inpatient Eating Disorder ward.

This is a part time 15 hours per week (2 days) role.

Salary FTE £180,000 pro rota salary £72,000 per year

As Consultant Psychiatrist , you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

The successful candidate must be a fully registered medical practitioner with the General Medical Council (GMC), hold a licence to practise, and be on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The role requires experience managing complex cases of eating disorders in an inpatient adolescent setting, along with strong clinical leadership, risk management expertise, and a collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team.
