Job Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Five Wells. HMP Five Wells is a category C resettlement prison based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, and houses around 1,687 patients. In this role you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and will be supported by a second Psychiatrist who is also our national psychiatry lead. The position is 4 days/8 sessions per week between Monday to Friday. This role can be offered as a job share, or if you are looking for full time it can be worked across HMP Five Wells and HMP Gartree or HMP Stocken.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you’ll be doing
  • Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite.
  • Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision.
  • Work within the multi‑disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi‑professional complex case reviews.

You will receive an annual salary up to £196,736 per annum FTE, depending on experience.
