The Defence Mental Health Services team, within Defence Primary Healthcare, seeks a consultant psychiatrist to assess, treat and advise Service personnel and entitled civilians using a recovery and rehabilitation approach. The compact caseload covers the most complex and unstable cases, with about ten new referrals a week and short-notice consultation for colleagues. Risk and morbidity are lower than in a general adult NHS population, and the 40-hour post may be shared. Candidates must hold CCT and Specialist Register entry, and visa sponsorship is not available.
