Job Summary

The person appointed will be based across all three sites and will be a member of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate, joining the existing multidisciplinary Major Trauma & Trauma teams as well as the Pelvis and Acetabular Team, with the option of an elective subspecialty. Duties will be undertaken in conjunction with consultant colleagues.

Main Duties

Trauma or Elective Week as part of the established 24 week rolling rota:

In addition: On call (Nominated on call days 1:4 weeks Monday to Thursday, and 1:8 weekends.). It is envisaged that the maximum average emergency work per week arising during premium time from on call duties will be 3 hours.

Weekends will alternate between first consultant on call and second consultant on call.

For the position advertised, 8.5 Pas DCC and 1.5 Pa SPA will be offered. The job plan will be subject to change and agreement with the successful applicant and will be subject to review in line with Institution policy.

  • Broad based clinical experience in the management of trauma, including and dealing with sequala of trauma.
  • Demonstrate operative experience in management of general trauma.
  • Application/acknowledgement of evidence based practice.
  • Able to participate in major trauma and general on call rota.
Experience (Desirable)
  • Skills to enhance the existing trauma and elective orthopaedic service.
