Are you an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon ready to take on a new challenge and apply your specialised skills in Neck of Femur surgery in a new environment? Do you have the expertise to support the management of trauma patients in a busy, acute environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team, offering the chance to further develop your skills while helping to improve the services we deliver.
As part of this role, you will join a dynamic team of 26 Consultants, delivering a broad range of elective and acute services at Peterborough City Hospital. There may be cross-site work at Hinchingbrooke Hospital to provide elective services, with day-care elective surgery conducted at both sites.

The role involves a sessional commitment of 10 PAs, divided into 6 fixed clinical sessions, consisting of 2 Outpatient Clinics and 4 Theatre sessions per week. You will actively participate in the provision of acute services, working a 1:10 weekday on-call rota (Monday to Friday) within a paired system, as well as a 1:20 weekend on-call rota, based at Peterborough City Hospital.
You will take full clinical responsibility for a diverse range of elective and emergency Orthopaedic patients, including both adult and paediatric cases. You will also collaborate with specialist centres as needed and contribute to the management of trauma injuries, with a commitment to the general trauma lists.
