A reputable healthcare provider in Rochdale is looking for a Consultant Ophthalmologist specializing in Glaucoma. The role involves leading subspecialty work, managing outpatient clinics, and conducting surgeries. The Trust currently provides Ophthalmology outpatient services at Oldham Integrated Care Centre, Rochdale Infirmary and Fairfield General Hospital. All day case surgical activity takes place at Rochdale Infirmary. This post requires cross‑site working, providing outpatient clinics from different sites and surgical work from mainly Rochdale Infirmary.
The advertised posts will complement a team of 10 Consultants, 4 Associate specialists, 2 speciality doctors and 9 Resident Doctors.
This appointment will be made in accordance with the 2003 Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions.
We are looking for candidates who are on the Specialist Register / Admission to the Register within 6 months of interview (CCST or CCT in Ophthalmology) or willing to complete the CESR within 12 months of employment.
Leadership and development of ophthalmic subspecialty work. The post holder will have a broad knowledge of Ophthalmology, including sub‑speciality experience and knowledge of Glaucoma in order to complement existing services.
