To ensure the continued delivery of high-quality oncological care to patients within the trust and to contribute to the further development of the service.

Position

The appointee will be Lead Medical Oncology Consultant for Breast & Hepatico‑Pancreatico‑Biliary Cancers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the multidisciplinary management of patients with breast and hepatico‑pancreatico‑biliary cancers.
• Increase entry of patients into clinical trials and expand the service as required to meet patient needs.
• Contribute to the ongoing service improvement programme by developing:
  • Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT)
  • Cost Improvement Programme (CIP)
  • Implement evidence‑based new ways of working when necessary
• Encourage application for fellowship of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.

Organisational context

We are working on a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to build a new state‑of‑the‑art hospital due to open in 2031/32 and are carrying out one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we’ve ever undertaken.
