Vacancy at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust

A role for a Consultant in Gynaecology and Obstetrics with a special interest in oncology care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general gynaecology and obstetric services across a 10 PA job plan (8.5 PA for direct clinical care and 1.5 PA for supporting professional activities).
  • Deliver 3.5 PA predictable scheduled sessions for emergency work with a rolling 12‑week rota.
  • Ensure a minimum of 98 hours of consultant presence on site for planned emergency cover (0800‑2200 daily; 0800‑1200 Monday‑Friday for gynaecology separate cover).
  • Take part in planned emergency sessions for obstetrics and gynaecology and participate in the on‑call rota (1:12 weekday and nights).
  • Actively contribute to gynaecology leadership responsibilities and help implement national recommendations.
  • Be skilled in managing emergency gynaecology and obstetrics (support can be provided if necessary).
  • Deliver regular post‑menopausal bleeding, rapid access clinics and general gynaecology clinics, theatre lists, leadership roles and clinical governance.
Key Results and Deliverables
  • Provide general obstetric and/or gynaecological services across a 10 PA job plan – 8.5 PA for direct clinical care and 1.5 PA for supporting professional activities.
