Job description
Introduction

We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in the regional neuroscience centre.

Responsibilities

In this post you will contribute to the acute and general out‑patient neurology service, share the out‑of‑hours service, support the specialist epilepsy service, and provide local DGH coverage for general neurology, epilepsy and inpatient liaison one day a week. You will also:

  • Provide acute and elective outpatient and inpatient neurology care
  • Take part in the specialist epilepsy service, including first seizure, epilepsy surgery, adolescent transition, neuro‑obstetrics and learning disability/epilepsy clinics
  • Attend weekly MDTs with the neurophysiology department for EEG review and twice‑monthly epilepsy surgery meetings
  • Help expand video‑telemetry provision and support the neuro‑oncology team
  • Lead regional liaison with the neuro‑fibromatosis service where needed
  • Participate in academic meetings and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes
  • Perform administrative duties in partnership with the Head of Department, Departmental Manager and Clinical Director
Qualifications

Applicants should hold a UK medical qualification with appropriate specialty training in neurology or related field, be registered with the General Medical Council, and be able to demonstrate experience in outpatient neurology, inpatient liaison and/or epilepsy service provision. Evidence of teaching and research experience is an advantage.
