Job summary

North Highland in the United Kingdom is seeking a Consultant for the Public Sector Portfolio to gain experience across PM, Change Management, Strategy, and Tech & Data. You will develop deliverables for client projects and organise meetings and workshops.

The role involves working with secure government clients, on-site 2–3 days per week, and contributing to business development while building credibility and advancing your career within a growing practice.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Public Sector or management consulting.
  • Experience with National Security clients is a plus.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for account growth and impact.
  • Strong time management, planning and organisation.
  • Ability to adapt communication styles to build consensus.

Responsibilities

  • Increase client impact and grow professionally.

Summary

As a Consultant in North Highland's Public Sector Portfolio, you will gain experience across multiple capabilities including Project Management, Change Management, Strategy, and Tech & Data. While there is no typical day, you can expect to develop deliverables for client projects, along with organising and facilitating meetings and workshops.

You Will
  • Use your knowledge to increase client impact, develop your skills, and grow your career.
  • Work directly with our secure government clients as a visible and engaged member of the team.
  • Minimum of 2-3 days p/w on site unless otherwise needed by the project.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to deliver creative solutions to client challenges.
  • Play a key role on your team by delivering presentations and written deliverables, and facilitating client and internal meetings and workshops.
  • Actively contribute to business development proposals and the identification of new opportunities.
  • Establish positive relationships with clients and peers that build credibility, foster your support network, and empower career development.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of our firm's shared vision to build our clients' capabilities and unleash their potential.
  • Cultivate knowledge of our clients' business models and increase your role in engagements.
Ideally, We'd Like
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience within Public Sector and/or Management Consulting, ideally some of which will have included National Security clients.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, including an excellent ability to uncover new opportunities for account growth and impact.
  • Strong time management, planning, and organisation skills.
  • The ability to quickly recognise different personal communication styles and leverage those styles to build consensus and collaborate effectively.
  • A proven capability to follow a structured approach when deciphering complex problems, and synthesising results.
  • The ability to establish credibility with clients and peers.
  • Superior flexibility and collaboration skills, and the ability to draw on them in difficult, ambiguous, and fast-moving situations.
  • Experience working on projects that cross into multiple disciplines.
  • Hold the appropriate security clearance required to support UK National Security clients.
