A leading healthcare trust in the United Kingdom seeks a Consultant Medical Microbiologist to participate in varied programmed activities, including on-call duties. The post attracts 10 programmed activities and the appointee will be expected to participate in the on‑call duties which are currently a one‑in‑five rota.
Consultant offices are based on site at Queen’s Hospital but clinical responsibilities mean rotating through both acute sites of Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital where we have on‑site laboratories and appointees will be expected to take an active interest in these facilities.
Any candidate who is unable to work full‑time for personal reasons will be eligible for consideration for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust, in consultation with consultant colleagues.
Applications are invited for a Consultant Medical Microbiologist (Consultant Microbiologist or joint Consultant Microbiologist/Infectious Diseases or Consultant Clinical Scientist). Candidates may be eligible for registration within six months of interview at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trust.
Applicants should be able to work full‑time, though full‑time commitment is preferable.
