Job summary

A leading environmental consultancy in Manchester is seeking a qualified Landscape Architect & Landscape Planner to join their UK Landscape & Urban Design team. The successful candidate will manage projects, prepare technical information for landscape infrastructure, and demonstrate expertise in Landscape and Visual Assessments. Candidates must have a degree and postgraduate diploma in Landscape Architecture. This position offers the chance to work on significant projects while collaborating with diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent.
  • Postgraduate diploma/ Masters qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent.
  • Experience delivering Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals and Assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage smaller projects and support larger projects.
  • Prepare technical information for landscape infrastructure projects.
  • Manage and delegate project work to junior team members.

Skills

Technical skills in Autodesk or Bentley and Adobe Creative Suite
Strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills
Experience in delivering Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals

Education

Degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent
Postgraduate diploma / Masters in Landscape Architecture or equivalent

We are seeking suitably qualified Landscape Architect & Landscape Planners with a diverse track record to join the UK Landscape & Urban Design team. We are a passionate and motivated team with offices in all regions of the UK. We value integrity and professionalism aligned with creativity and vision and as part of the UK Environment business, the successful candidate will join a diverse, collaborative team and work alongside colleagues across the UK and abroad.

  • Being an integral part of a vibrant, ambitious and friendly team.
  • Independently managing smaller projects and supporting delivery of specific tasks within larger projects.
  • Prepare technical information for landscape infrastructure, development and improvement projects, which may include:
  • Strategic and feasibility/concept studies;
  • Landscape and visual assessment (LVIA) for both linear and site-based projects;
  • Townscape and visual assessment (TVIA);
  • Preliminary/sketch and detailed design including general arrangement drawings, hard & soft construction detailing, schedules & specification to support planning applications
  • Tender and construction packages, construction/post-construction inspections
  • Support the continued development of our relationships with existing and new clients in public and private sectors.
  • Supporting the preparation of bids ranging from small to complex multi-disciplinary projects..
  • Managing and delegation of project work to junior members of the team.
  • Client facing role, involving design advice, attending workshops and stakeholder events.
  • Joining internal multi-disciplinary working groups promoting innovation, excellence and thought leadership.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

  • Degree level qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent;
  • Postgraduate diploma / Masters qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent;
  • Experience delivering Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals and Assessments;
  • Experience in the successful delivery of landscape and urban design projects desirable.
  • Experience of managing landscape design during the construction phase desirable.
  • Excellent technical skills and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Fluent spoken English with excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
