CONSULTANT IN OLD AGE LIAISON PSYCHIATRY

Are you a dedicated leader seeking a new opportunity? Our client is looking for a committed Consultant specializing in Old Age Psychiatry to join their team.

The hospital is located in the East Midlands, a peaceful countryside area popular for relaxation and recharge.

The post holder will be responsible for administrative duties related to patient care, recording clinical activities accurately and comprehensively. Maintaining professional registration with the Mental Health Act Section 12 (2) approval and adhering to professional codes of conduct are also required.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. Full GMC registration (ESSENTIAL)
  2. MRCPsych or equivalent
  3. GMC's Specialist Registration or being within six months of completing CCT
  4. Publications in psychiatry
  5. Ability to relate well to elderly patients, carers, and relatives
  6. Team player—able to work within a multidisciplinary team
  7. Experience training psychiatric Core trainees and multidisciplinary staff

Additional Information:

The Liaison Psychiatry Service collaborates with other mental health staff within acute hospitals, including specialist alcohol nurses, dementia nurses, and psychological therapists working with patients with long-term conditions or frequent attenders.
