We are delighted to offer an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced and motivated Consultant Obstetrician to lead our Outpatient Clinics and Assessment Services. You will be responsible for the planning, delivery, development and improvement of outpatient and assessment services (antenatal, pregnancy assessment unit/ triage areas) together with providing a high-quality Obstetrics service including on-call out of hours, in conjunction with consultant colleagues and a multi-disciplinary team. The role on offer is for a 10 PA contract with 1 Additional PA for the Lead role. There is also the opportunity for additional programmed activity subject to job planning. It will include 1:14 on-call commitment.
You will be responsible for the continuing care and treatment of patients in your charge and personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in your job plan, allowing for all proper delegation to and training of your staff.
You will take an active role in Clinical Governance, lead and participate in audit projects relevant to your clinical interests and promote research and academic activity within the specialty to help ensure our services are continuously being improved.
Responsible for the professional supervision, training and management of junior medical staff, carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contributing to postgraduate and CPD activity locally and nationally as appropriate.
You will lead on the inpatient antenatal and postnatal services.
It is essential for applicants for substantive Consultant posts to be either on the GMC Specialist Register, or be within six months of their CCT date at the interview date
