A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine to join the well-established team in Luton. This role involves maintaining high clinical standards, teaching junior staff, and participating in on-call duties. Candidates must have GMC registration and be within 6 months of CCT accreditation. The appointee will join the well-established Department of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and Integrated Pain Services as a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine as part of a service development plan, for a new 22 bedded Intensive Care Unit under in the new Acute Surgical Block (ASB) under construction which is due for completion in the autumn of 2025.
Applicants must be included in the GMC Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine or be within six months of CCT accreditation. The successful applicant will provide a comprehensive high quality service to the department as a consultant intensivist.
The Clinical Lead for Intensive Care Medicine, at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, is Dr Raza. The successful applicant will join a friendly team in a growing Intensive Care Medicine Department with 13 consultants including single speciality ICM, dual speciality ICM / Anaesthesia or ICM / Emergency Medicine Consultants. The post involves provision of regular day time ICM commitment and out of hours on call ICM consultant commitment.
Luton and Dunstable hospital is located within easy access to central London and the Midlands. London Luton Airport is within fifteen minutes' drive from the hospital.
