A regional healthcare provider in Chester is seeking a Consultant in General Medicine to join their Diabetes and Endocrinology team. This role involves providing high-quality services in a collaborative environment and participating in clinical research. Applications are invited for the position of Consultant Physician in General Medicine within the Diabetes and Endocrinology team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy and visionary department and have an opportunity to participate in the continuing development and success of the service. This post will have a greater GIM focus than the standard JD, but we are keen to discuss in more detail with interested candidates.
The candidate will be expected to integrate within the team of seven existing consultants to provide a complete and high-quality service, supporting the Diabetes and Endocrinology team with a focus on the GIM wards plus some clinics.
We have a strong tradition for team working with a multidisciplinary approach utilising the skills of specialist nurses, dietitians and podiatrists. There are close links between the hospital and community services. There is a full range of specialist diabetes clinics including Antenatal, Foot, Type 1, Complication and Young Persons as well as Endocrine/Bone and Bariatric clinics with regular MDT meetings. The department has a very active and expanding research portfolio.
The department has an excellent record of recruitment to clinical trials and has been the highest recruiter, nationally, for various trials.
