A leading private hospital in the UK is seeking a Consultant Anaesthesia to join their multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will anaesthetise patients for various procedures, ensuring high-quality care in a modern hospital environment in Plymouth, Devon. This role involves clinical, administrative, and teaching responsibilities, offering extensive training and development opportunities. The position typically requires 40 hours per week, including occasional Saturdays, with flexible shift options.
Working as part of a skilful multi-discipline team, the Head Medical are seeking a Consultant Anaesthesia (General) to work for a leading private hospital in the UK.
Based in Plymouth, Devon, you will ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard. The organization focuses on providing high-quality treatment quickly in clean and comfortable surroundings.
As the successful appointee, you will anaesthetise patients for a range of procedures – from ophthalmology to orthopaedics, and from gynaecology to general surgery. Alongside clinical responsibilities, you will also have the chance to get involved in administrative and managerial aspects of the department, and in the development of less experienced colleagues.
The post is elective except where a postoperative patient requires a return to theatre. You will also attend OPD on a rota basis to help in pre-assessment of patients prior to surgery.
Applicants will be expected to have an excellent clinical quality record and be able to demonstrate an ability to perform efficiently in theatre.

A typical job plan will comprise 40 hours of clinical activity per week, including Saturdays on occasions, with flexible elements. Five hours for SPA is given per week, but employees are expected to work flexibly where necessary when colleagues are on leave – rotas are planned months in advance.
